The client wanted a project managed solution so icon was tasked with making and sourcing injected moulded parts; electric switch and sub assembly of tubing; sheath and wiring process (included insert moulding, ultra sonic welding; heat stitching and soldering).
icon plastics got this project transferred from original supplier due to manufacturing difficulties, quality and supply issues. icon plastics resolved the issues carrying out corrective tooling work and implementation of stringent manufacturing quality controls. icon plastics managed to carry out 90% of operations in-house.
Eighteen months later sales volumes have increased as the customer now has a secure supply chain in the form of icon plastics.
